Slop Horror Stories
Real horror stories from teams that lived through AI coding gone wrong. Curated, anonymized on request, and published when they teach something the rest of us can learn from.
The wall is empty (for now)
Slopapalooza is brand new. There aren’t any stories posted here yet — but if you’ve survived a 9,000-line component, inherited an API designed entirely by autocomplete, or watched a team merge code they couldn’t explain, we want to hear it.
What makes a good story
- The setup. What was the team trying to ship? What did they let AI do?
- The slope. Where did the discipline first slip — the missing spec, the skipped review, the trust without verification?
- The bill. What did it cost? Hours, money, customers, a postmortem, a job?
- The lesson. What would the team do differently — and what do they want other teams to know?
